Artist's Description
I have set up my easel on this property several times. It is the oldest maintained home in Raleigh, now operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation. The Mordecai family (pronounced MordeKEE in Raleigh, for some unknown reason!) was one of the founding families of the city, which was established in 1792. If you visit Raleigh, this is one of the places you ought to see.
